Work on an East Yorkshire college's new £17m campus building is complete.

East Riding College said contractors had handed over the keys to the complex on St Mary's Walk in Bridlington.

The two-storey building, which has 44 teaching rooms, was built on land adjacent to the existing campus, which will be demolished.

Staff are now preparing the building to welcome its first intake of students next month. Three open events have been organised so people can look around.

They are on 22 August, from 1000 BST to 1300 BST, 27 August from 1400 BST to 1900 BST, and 28 August from 1400 BST to 1600 BST.

John Doris, the college's director of resources, said he was "delighted" to be moving into the new building and was "overwhelmed" by its quality and facilities.
