Man in court over estate murder

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man on an estate in Grimsby.

Ben Ford, 22, of Duke Street, died on Friday night after an incident in Hanson Way on the East Marsh estate.

Ashley Grant, 25, of Fairway, Waltham, was charged with murder and violent disorder.

Mr Grant appeared before magistrates in Grimsby on Tuesday. His case was transferred to Hull Crown Court for trial and he was remanded in custody.

Another man, Jamie Rushby, 22, of Bramhall Street, Cleethorpes, also appeared in court in connection with Mr Ford's death.

He was charged with violent disorder and was remanded in custody.

A third man, Jamie Short, 19, of Worcester Avenue, Grimsby, appeared at Grimsby Magistrates' Court on Monday, charged with violent disorder and breaching the terms of an anti-social behaviour order.

He is due to appear at the court again on Wednesday.
