Two in court over stabbing death

Two men are due to appear in court in connection with the death of a man who was stabbed on a Grimsby estate.

Ben Ford, 22, of Duke Street, died on Friday night after an incident in Hanson Way on the East Marsh estate.

Ashley Grant, 25, of Fairway, Waltham, has been charged with murder and violent disorder.

Jamie Rushby, 22, of Bramhall Street, Cleethorpes, has been charged with violent disorder. They will both appear before Grimsby magistrates later.

Jamie Short, 19, of Worcester Avenue, Grimsby, who was also arrested in connection with Mr Ford's death, appeared at the town's magistrates' Court on Monday, charged with violent disorder and breaching the terms of an anti-social behaviour order.

Police investigating Mr Ford's death are appealing to residents in the Hanson Way and Hildyard Street areas of Grimsby for help in tracing a knife they want to locate in connection with the inquiry.

Det Insp Alan Dorning said they believed a weapon may have been discarded in the area and urged anyone who found a knife to contact the major incident team at Cleethorpes.
