Man charged over serious assault

A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with a serious assault in North East Lincolnshire.

A 24-year-old man was attacked with a bladed weapon at the Riverhead in Grimsby in the early hours of Saturday.

The victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Diana Princess of Wales Hospital.

The 20-year-old has been charged with grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses to the attack to come forward.
