Inquest opens into soldier death

An inquest has been opened into the death of a Grimsby soldier who was one of two servicemen killed when their vehicle was blown up in Afghanistan.

Corporal Graeme Stiff, 24, died when his vehicle was hit by an explosive device in Helmand province on 15 March.

He was on his first tour, attached to the 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards.

No date has been set for the inquest to be resumed, although the Wiltshire and Swindon coroner's office has confirmed it will be held in Trowbridge.
