Vehicles trapped in snow cleared

Heavy snow causes travel disruption
The snow has caused travel disruption across the region

More than 100 vehicles stuck in heavy snow in the Yorkshire Wolds have been cleared.

Humberside Police said earlier that a number of drivers who had become trapped near Langtoft had abandoned their vehicles.

The force said at one point in the evening it was inundated with calls from people reporting problems on the region's roads.

Police worked with the fire service and council to clear the roads.

The severe weather caused widespread disruption across East Yorkshire.

A further 12 vehicles were trapped in Pocklington and drivers on the A63 leaving Hull were caught in long tailbacks near the Humber Bridge.
