Man charged with Christmas murder

A 62-year-old Hull man has appeared in court charged with murdering his wife on Christmas Day, police have said.

Leslie Harding appeared before Hull magistrates on Saturday charged with the murder of Pamela Harding, 63, at their home in Sandy Point, Bilton.

He was remanded in custody until Tuesday 6 January when he is due to appear at Hull Crown Court.

Police were called to the couple's home by the ambulance service at 1705 GMT on Christmas Day.

Mrs Harding was taken injured to Hull Royal Infirmary where she died on Boxing Day morning.

Humberside Police said she had one grown-up daughter, who lives in Surrey, and also leaves a sister and two brothers.
