Free theatre trips for under 26s

Empty theatre
Free tickets will be available on a special website

Free theatre tickets are being given to young people in North Lincolnshire.

Scunthorpe's Plowright Theatre is handing out tickets to under 26-year-olds as part of a scheme to encourage more young people through its doors.

North Lincolnshire Council won a £10,000 grant from Arts Council England to fund the initiative.

Tickets will be available from February on a first come, first served basis. A website for booking tickets will go live in the new year.

Councillor Christine O'Sullivan, cabinet member for leisure, arts and culture, said: "There's such a range of performances that take place at the Plowright that suit every taste.

"If this scheme can open up the theatre to some of our younger residents and let them see for themselves entertainment at its best, then they will want to come back time and time again."
