People facing the dole will be given advice at the event at the Guildhall

Workers who have lost their jobs or are facing the threat of redundancy in Hull and East Yorkshire can take advantage of an information and advice day.

Experts from a range of organisations will be on hand to offer advice and guidance at Hull's Guildhall in Alfred Gelder Street.

A report by the Local Government Association has warned of possible significant job losses in the area.

The teams of advisors will be at the event on 24 November.

Councillor John Robinson said: "We hope that this event will help the many people from across different industries who have been made redundant or who are facing redundancy.

"The event and advice is free and I urge people to come along and find out what assistance is available to them to help them retrain or find alternative employment opportunities."
