Stream body sparks police inquiry

A police investigation has begun after the discovery of a man's body in a stream in Cleethorpes.

Police divers recovered the body of the man, who has not yet been identified, from the water near Little Buck Beck pumping station off Kings Road.

The death of the man, who is believed to be between 35 and 40 years old, is being treated as suspicious.

He was found near the Pleasure Island theme park on Saturday and police have urged any witnesses to contact them.

Officers were at the scene on Sunday searching for anything which might help them identify the man.

A post mortem examination to establish the cause of death is expected to take place on Monday, police said.
