Men in hospital after dog attack

A 76-year-old man and another man have been treated in hospital after being attacked by a dog in East Yorkshire.

Police were called to Hansard Drive in Gilberdyke on Monday night after reports two people had been attacked.

The elderly man suffered bites to his hands, arms and chest and was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary. A man in his 50s also needed hospital treatment.

Police said the dog, whose breed has not yet been established, was taken to a secure location.

A spokesman for Humberside Police said it was not yet known whether the dog would be destroyed.
