Police in Hull are asking motorcyclists to be vigilant following a number of motorbike thefts across the city.

Various makes of motorcycle have been stolen, mainly during the night.

Barry Longstaff from Humberside Police said the number of vehicle crimes in Hull had decreased over the last year but motorcycle thefts had risen.

"It is important that motorcyclists take precautions to keep their machines safe and that communities remain vigilant," he said.

He advised regular use of steering locks and other immobilisers.
