The family of a man who died after he was attacked in a car park have paid tribute to him.
Paul Midgley, 23, was assaulted at the Moorfield car park in Bridlington, Yorkshire, on 10 August and died in hospital five days later.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder and remanded in custody to appear at Hull Crown Court next month.
Mr Midgley's family said he loved sports and cooking and had a "fantastic sense of humour".
In a statement, they said: "It's nearly two weeks since we tragically lost our son Paul and we cannot put into words just how much we will miss him and how much losing him has left us with a void we will never be able to fill.
"From an early age, Paul was inquisitive and had a thirst for knowledge and the desire to learn more with the ability to take on information like a sponge."
Mr Midgley, who had recently moved to Driffield from Bridlington, enjoyed playing golf and was a fan of the Chelsea football team, as well as Hull City, his family said.
They added: "Paul loved cooking and could often be found attempting to create a variety of dishes but always had a reluctance to wash the pots afterwards.
"He had a fantastic sense of humour and that is possibly what we will miss most of all."
