A car has crashed into a house in East Yorkshire causing structural damage to much of the property, police have said.

Officers were called to Flatgate, in Howden, just before 0600 BST after the Ford Focus hit the house.

The occupants of the property were unhurt, as was the driver of the car, a 42-year-old man from Hull.

A Humberside Police spokesman said the road could be closed for a number of days until the extent of the damage is assessed.
