A man has been charged with murdering his father, whose body was found in an East Yorkshire field.

Frank Garner, 62, went missing in July 2005. A dog walker found his body, wrapped in bin liners, in East Cowick, near Goole on 18 June.

A post-mortem examination has proved inconclusive but police are still investigating.

Richard James Garner, aged 30, of Goole, is due to appear before magistrates on Monday.

Officers believe Mr Garner's body could have been in the field for two years.

Further tests are being carried out on his body and police are awaiting the results.

A Humberside Police spokeswoman said: "The investigation into Mr Garner's death is continuing and detectives would like to speak to anyone who saw Frank on or after 28 July 2005."
