Thousands queue for Wembley seats

Queues at KC Stadium
A queue of thousands of fans snakes around the KC Stadium

Thousands of Hull City fans have spent the night queuing at the club's ground for tickets to the Championship play-off final next weekend.

By Saturday morning more than 6,000 had turned up at the KC Stadium to secure a place for the showdown against Bristol City at Wembley.

The first to get theirs were season ticketholders Brian and Maureen Dibner who had queued since Friday afternoon.

"It's all been worth it, even though I didn't get any sleep," said Mr Dibner.

"We're very excited about getting hold of the tickets and I'm now going to take them home and lock them away in our strongbox."

The Tigers have received an allocation of 36,000 tickets for Saturday's final, with the first tranche going on sale to season ticketholders. General ticket sales start at 0900 BST on Monday.

A club spokesman advised fans who wanted to avoid queuing to buy tickets online via the official club website.
