Entertainment venue plan unveiled
Artist's impression of new venue
The Baths Hall original frontage, shown in white, will remain
An artist's impression of a new entertainment venue planned for Scunthorpe has been unveiled.

The town's historic Baths Hall, on Doncaster Road, is being transformed into a venue that council chiefs hope will attract big name acts.

The current frontage is being retained in the makeover.

North Lincolnshire Council has launched an online public survey to question people on who they would like to see perform at the new venue.

'Exciting times'

Most of the asbestos and demolition work on the site has been completed.

The council's budget committee meeting on 20 February will determine how much money is available for the new venue.

Councillor Mark Kirk, leader of the council, said: "These are exciting times ahead.

"I want to see the Baths Hall rejuvenated into an iconic modern-day entertainment venue that will be able to compete with similar attractions in the region.

"But I also want the Baths Hall to be remembered. It has a place in many people's hearts and one thing I will make certain is that we keep the original frontage."
