New arrest in fight death inquiry

A sixth person has been arrested by police investigating the killing of a father of four in Grimsby.

Jamie Eskrett, 37, of Blaydon Grove, died in hospital on Sunday evening after reports of a fight at his home.

Post-mortem tests showed that he died from injuries sustained in an assault, Humberside Police said.

A 58-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in Grimsby on Wednesday morning and is being questioned by officers.

A 35-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were arrested in Barrow in north Lincolnshire on Monday. The woman was later released on police bail.

The man, who was arrested suspicion of murder, remained in police custody on Wednesday.

Three other men, aged 37, 38 and 39, who were arrested on Sunday, also remained in custody on Wednesday. All were arrested on suspicion of murder.

A Humberside Police spokeswoman said: "Detectives are very pleased by the public's response to appeals for information so far.

"They wish to encourage people to continue to contact us if they saw or heard anything connected with the death of Mr Eskrett or the disturbance at Blaydon Grove."
