Traders in Bridlington are offering discounts to visitors who travel to the resort by public transport.
Around 40 businesses have signed up for the scheme which has the backing of local train and bus companies.
Discounts are available throughout the summer to anyone with a valid rail or bus ticket to Bridlington.
Organisers of the Bridlington Summer Savers Project claim it will bring extra visitors to the town while protecting the environment.
Congestion and pollution
Rail development Officer David Walford said everyone has something to gain.
"More people will travel on buses and trains, so less congestion and pollution," he added.
"Traders can expect more business which is essential to the economic well-being of the town.
"And visitors will enjoy discounts which they would not be able to do if they arrived by car.
"We expect it to be a great success that will be advertised across the region."
