Three people have been killed in two early morning road accidents in Brigg and Goole.

Two men died when their car collided head-on with a box van on the A18 Scawby Road in Brigg.

It happened when they were overtaking an unlit parked car. The A18 was closed between the Castlethorpe and Scawby crossroads for police investigations.

A 48-year-old cyclist was also killed when he collided with a lorry towing a trailer on Bridge Street in Goole.

Police said both accidents happened just before 0600 GMT.
