A Christmas campaign against people who get drunk and cause trouble is being launched across East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.
Humberside Police will have special teams on duty in town and city centres at weekends until Christmas Eve.
Officers will hand out £80 on-the-spot fines to anyone seen drunk and disorderly or causing a nuisance.
"We will not have drunken, yobbish or violent people on our streets," said assistant chief constable Alan Leaver.
"Our purpose is not to spoil anyone's party. It is to ensure people do enjoy themselves and I am confident we have the support of the general public."
The operation against drunken yobs is being funded by a special grant from the Home Office.
