Drivers are being warned of delays on the A1 after a crash closed part of the southbound carriageway on the South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire border.
Firefighters from Doncaster, Edlington and Nottinghamshire are trying to free a person trapped in a car and the air ambulance was called out.
The road is closed between the M18 interchange and the A614 Bawtry road.
A South Yorkshire Fire Service spokeswoman said the crash was between a HGV and a number of cars.
