Extra officers join Joanne search
Joanne Nelson
The search for Joanne Nelson has now entered its third week
An extra 20 police officers are to join the hunt for the body of missing Hull woman Joanne Nelson.

On Thursday, 45 officers will comb land around the Goole corridor. The search will also cover an area around Cowick and Thorne, South Yorkshire.

A Humberside Police spokesman said they were "lucky" to have the extra officers after another exercise was cancelled.

Miss Nelson, 22, went missing on Valentine's Day. Her fiancé Paul Dyson, 30, has been charged with her murder.

'No leads'

On Wednesday the force helicopter joined the search, which has now entered its third week.

Underwater teams also worked with police officers to cover areas of East and North Yorkshire which had earlier been covered by snow.

A Humberside Police spokesman said that although there had been "no significant leads" detectives were following up all information provided in the hunt for Joanne.

Officers have dozens of search areas still to cover which they plan to complete within the next two weeks.

They have renewed calls for landowners, farmers and walkers to contact them if they know of a site featuring a tubular steel farm gate, possibly with a number of green bottles close to the right hand side of the gate.

Behind the gate police believe there is a short track near a copse. The gate would be set back enough for a car to drive up to it and would be off a surfaced road.
