Helicopter joins hunt for Joanne
Joanne Nelson
The search for Joanne Nelson has now entered its third week
The Humberside Police helicopter has joined the search for the body of missing Hull woman Joanne Nelson.

On Wednesday, the helicopter combed an area around the Isle of Axeholme. Underwater teams also searched in North Cave, Raywell and Bentley.

Officers revisited areas in Brantingham and Melbourne, near York, after poor weather hampered earlier efforts.

Miss Nelson, 22, went missing on Valentine's Day. Her fiancé Paul Dyson, 30, has been charged with her murder.

Renewed calls

A Humberside Police spokesman said Wednesday's search did not "give any significant leads" in the hunt for Joanne.

Officers have dozens of search areas in East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire still to cover which they plan to complete within the next two weeks.

Detectives have renewed calls for landowners, farmers and walkers to contact them if they know of a site featuring a tubular steel farm gate.

Police have information that there were a number of green bottles close to the right hand side of the gate.

Behind the gate is a short track before a copse of trees. The gate will be set back enough for a car to drive up to it and be off a surfaced road.
