Man trapped for hours in machine

A farmer has suffered serious leg injuries after he was sucked into a potato-harvesting machine in a field in East Yorkshire.

Firefighters were called to Tramby Lane in Swanland on Tuesday after reports that a man had been trapped for nearly two hours.

The farmer was stuck in the metal machinery up to his waist and needed to be cut free.

He was rushed to hospital where his condition is said to be stable.
