Two men died when their car crashed in a village in North Lincolnshire early on Friday.
They were travelling in a Toyota Celica which came off the road and hit a wall outside a house at West Butterwick near Scunthorpe. No one else was in the car.
Both men were trapped in the wreckage and had to be released by fire crews and paramedics.
Matthew Rickwood, 28, from Lifford Road, Doncaster died at the scene. His passenger died on the way to hospital.
He was Mark Schmidt, also 28, from West Street, West Butterwick.
A police spokeswoman said Mr Rickwood appeared to have lost control of the vehicle.
"At the time, the vehicle was travelling south on North Street and had just entered the village of West Butterwick," she added.
