A 23-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a heavily pregnant woman in Hull.

Benjamin Holiday, of Somerset Street, is accused of killing Tina Stevenson, a 31-year-old mother of five who was pregnant with twins.

Mr Holiday is alleged to have stabbed Ms Stevenson in Wellsted Street on 5 January as she walked to her nearby home in Gee Street.

He will appear at the Crown Court on 17 January. Bail was not applied for.

The unborn children could not be saved despite the efforts of medical staff.
