Police name teenage crash victim
Police have named a teenage cyclist who died after being involved in a collision with a car.

Adam Hatfield, of Anderby Drive in Grimsby, had been riding his mountain bike from Great Coates towards the A180 on Wednesday afternoon.

The 14-year-old was then involved in a collision with a Peugeot car.

The boy was taken to Diana Princess of Wales Hospital with head and stomach injuries before being transferred to Hull Royal Infirmary where he died.

The car driver, a 28-year-old Grasby woman, was uninjured.

Her passenger was treated for cuts and bruises.

A Humberside Police spokeswoman said the boy was out cycling with four friends when the accident happened.

"The youngsters were cycling towards the A180 and intended to turn right onto a track across a field leading towards the Willows Estate when a collision occurred," she said.
