Man still in custody over knifing
Police in Grimsby have been given more time to question a man arrested after a stabbing at a New Year's Eve party.

The 24-year-old Grimsby man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday following the incident at a house in Newsham Drive in the town.

A Humberside Police spokesman said the man's initial 24-hour detention had been extended by a senior officer until Sunday afternoon.

The 24-year-old victim remains in a serious condition in hospital.
