A man who was rescued by firefighters after getting trapped in the mud on a Hull riverbank had a lucky escape, the fire service has said.
A passer-by raised the alarm on Wednesday night after the man fell into the River Hull close to Drypool Bridge - a point where there are no railings.
Firefighters found him trapped face-down in the mud when they arrived.
Two officers, using a ladder, dragged the man to safety before the tide came in. He was treated by paramedics.
The rescue follows a similar incident last week and emergency services have issued a reminder about the dangers of waterways at night.
