More arrests in force operation
More than 117 people have been arrested in raids in East Yorkshire as part of an ongoing campaign by police.

Operation Target is a force initiative to round up criminals or people who have failed to appear in court.

Five men and a woman are in custody for a range of offences including burglary and assault, following the raids on Monday morning.

Det Insp Tony Burke said: "The message to prolific and persistent offenders is that we are coming to seek you."

Letters sent

Officers have arrested 38 people since the campaign began at the start of October.

A further 56 offenders are being targeted across the county in the latest stage of the operation.

"We have sent letters out to those people who have failed to appear at court and who are now wanted on warrant," said Mr Burke.

"Nine have already handed themselves in court as a result."
