A man has died after his motorbike hit a dog in the early hours of Monday.
The accident happened at 0010 BST at Ashby Hill Top on the A18 near Grimsby, Lincolnshire. The road was closed until 0815 BST.
Police said: "It is believed the rider encountered a Rottweiler or similar dog in the road and, despite trying to avoid the animal, collided with it.
"The rider, a man from Louth, lost control of the bike and slid along the road before colliding with a car."
