An East Yorkshire college has abandoned plans to build a new campus in the centre of Bridlington.
The East Riding College wanted to move from its current site in St Mary's Walk to a new campus at the Hilderthorpe Road coach park.
But college chiefs decided against the move after investigating the planning issues and costs involved.
John Dorris, Director of resources at the College, said the existing site would now be redeveloped instead.
He told BBC Radio Humberside: "Regretfully, the conclusion was that in terms of funding and planning timescales it wasn't going to be possible.
"We are at the moment putting together plans for a reconstruction of large parts of the college at our existing site in St Mary's Walk.
"We're hopeful that will take place towards the end of this year."
The East Riding College provides further and higher education courses at its sites in Bridlington and Beverley.
