Two arrested after bridge crash

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after another man suffered serious injuries when a car crashed into a bridge.

Firefighters had to cut the injured man out of the car after the crash at Bransford Bridge, on the A4103 in Worcestershire in the early hours.

He was taken to hospital where his condition is described as critical.

The road was shut for more than four hours after the crash as forensic experts examined the area.

The two arrested men were both taken to Worcester police station, one after receiving treatment for minor injuries.

Police urged anyone who saw the crash to contact them.
