Canal collapse tree closes road

A road has been shut after a tree collapsed into a canal in Worcestershire and took part of the carriageway down with it.

Emergency crews were called to Lea Lane in Cookley, north of Kidderminster, earlier.

The Highways Agency shut the route and it is expected to be closed until at least Sunday.

Severn Trent was also dealing with a burst water main which was also damaged when the tree was uprooted.
