Man sexually assaults dog walker

A woman has come forward after being sexually assaulted while she was out walking her dog in Worcestershire.

Police are warning women to be careful if they go out alone at night after the attack last month, the details of which have only just emerged.

The woman was assaulted as she was walking in Batchley, Redditch, in the early hours of 23 October.

She was approached by a stranger who she had seen smoking in the Brockhill Drive underpass minutes earlier.

He then assaulted her in the recreational area near the basketball court.

Police said it was a serious assault which left the woman "very distressed".

They urged any witnesses to speak to them.
