Charge over body in park murder

A man has been charged with the murder of a 66-year-old man who was discovered dead in a park in Worcester.

Gordon Whitehouse, from Whitbourne, had been the victim of a "violent physical attack," Det Ch Insp Gary Watson, of West Mercia Police, said.

His body was found in Gheluvelt Park by a passer-by at about 0510 BST on Wednesday.

Police said a 30-year-old man will appear before magistrates in Worcester charged with Mr Whitehouse's murder.
