Man fined after fatal collision

A man has been found not guilty of causing death by dangerous driving after a woman died in a crash and her granddaughter was seriously injured.

Maud Davies, 69, of Presteigne, Powys, died after her car collided with one driven by Aaron Bowden, 21, of Cholstrey on 2 July 2008.

Her granddaughter Rachel Davies, 18, was hurt in the crash on the B4529 in Cholstrey, near Leominster.

Bowden was convicted of driving without due care and attention.

He was fined £515 and given six points on his driving licence.
