Man injured in factory explosion

A man was airlifted to hospital after an explosion at a factory in Herefordshire.

The man, in his 40s, suffered serious burns in the blast, which happened at an engineering factory in Holmer Road, Hereford, on Sunday morning.

He suffered 15% burns to his left arm, abdomen and left knee, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

He was flown to the specialist burns unit at Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham. His condition has not been revealed.
