A concert in memory of a sub-postmaster's son killed in an armed robbery will raise money for two charities chosen by his family.

Craig Hodson-Walker, 29, died in the raid at Fairfield Post Office and Stores, Worcestershire, on 9 January.

Organisers said at least 16 acts were performing for free in the village on 5 July to raise money for Ladies Fighting Cancer and Frankley's RSPCA centre.

Four men are to appear in court charged with Mr Hodson-Walker's murder.

They are also accused of the attempted murder of his father and attempted robbery and will appear at Worcester Crown Court on 29 June.

Kevin Pearson is one of the organisers of the concert which will be held at Fairfield Villa football ground.

He said the event aimed "to bring people in the village together" after the shock of Mr Hodson-Walker's death.

Mr Pearson, a member of Blackwell Concert Band, one of the acts which will perform, said he was surprised how the event had grown.

He said other acts included a rock band, Fairfield Folk Band, West Mercia Brass Band, and a dance troupe.
