Mercian Regiment's Freedom March

Hundreds of people have turned out to support a military parade in Worcestershire.

The Mercian Regiment Freedom March took place in Kidderminster at about noon.

The 4th Battalion paraded through the town centre with their bayonets fixed to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Volunteer Services.

A reception was held in the town hall and tributes were paid to the 2nd Battalion Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters serving in Afghanistan.

Rolling police road blocks were in place in Vicar Street, High Street, Worcester Street, Marlborough Street and Oxford Street for the duration of the parade but have since reopened.
