Witness appeal over man's death

Road sealed off
Officers sealed off the A38 on Saturday and Sunday

Police investigating an "unexplained death" want to hear from anyone who saw a disturbance at a house.

West Mercia Police officers were called to a property in Birmingham Road, Lickey End, Worcestershire, about 1100 GMT on Saturday and found a man's body.

Det Supt Steve Cullen said police "believe a couple may have been having a heated argument" late on Friday night or in the early hours of Saturday.

The A38 was likely to remain sealed off for several hours, he added.

Det Supt Cullen said they wanted to hear from anyone who spotted "some sort of disturbance".

Boxer shorts

"We believe a couple may have been having a heated argument and at one point the man came out of the house barefoot and wearing a t-shirt and boxer shorts," he said.

"The house is close to the junction with the old Birmingham Road and close to Mount School."

He said the man was in his mid-30s, white and with dark hair.

The woman was described as white, slim, with long mousy-brown hair and was believed to be her late 20s.

Det Supt Cullen added: "We believe this woman may have left the address to visit a nearby petrol station walking towards Bromsgrove town centre and then returned to the house in Birmingham Road."

The man has not been named by police. A post-mortem examination was expected to take place on Monday.

Any witnesses or anyone with information about the incident has been urged to call West Mercia Police or Crimestoppers.
