Protest walk over wind farm plan

Villagers unhappy about plans for a wind farm in Worcestershire have taken part in a protest walk where the turbines would be sited.

Scottish Power Renewables wants to put 10 turbines at Lenchwick, near the Vale of Evesham, in Worcestershire.

Some residents are opposed to the scheme and more than 100 people walked along the Wychavon Way to view the area which could be affected.

Scottish Power has said plans were at an early stage.

A spokesman said every factor was taken into consideration when planning potential wind farm sites and all concerns were dealt with sensitively.

It will consult with residents before deciding whether to proceed with a full planning application.
