Visitor ban hits second hospital

Worcestershire Royal Hospital
Four wards at Worcestershire Royal Hospital have been affected

A visitor ban has been introduced at another hospital in Worcestershire because of the winter vomiting bug.

Staff said a Norovirus outbreak meant they had imposed a visitor ban on the Cookley ward at Kidderminster Hospital.

Worcestershire Royal Hospital banned visitors on Wednesday because of an outbreak on four of its wards. Some non-urgent surgery was also cancelled.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust said it hoped the ban would stop the infectious bug from spreading.

The ban continues at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
