Homes without power after crash

Forty-four homes were left without power after a lorry left the road and crashed into two electricity pylons.

The crash happened at about 1100 BST on the A451 at Ismere, near Kidderminster, Worcestershire.

Power was subsequently restored to 31 customers and Central Networks said it hoped to reconnect the remaining customers by 0300 BST on Friday.

The road, between Kidderminster and Stourbridge, will remain closed while the repair work is carried out.

The driver of the lorry was not injured and no other vehicles were involved, police said.
