Man, 50, accused of arson murder

A 50-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murder and arson after a man died in a house fire.

Richard Perkins, 37, was found dead in the property on the Pound Bank estate, Malvern, Worcestershire, on Monday.

His wife and three children suffered smoke inhalation. A male and two females are still in hospital.

Stephen George-Davies, of Oak Crescent, Malvern, who is charged with murder and five counts of arson, was remanded in custody by Worcester magistrates.

He is due to appear at Worcester Crown Court on 23 October.

A youth who was also arrested has been released without charge.

Mr Perkins' body was found in a bedroom of the terraced house in The Glades.
