Pedestrian killed in road crash

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Worcestershire.

The man, from Oldbury, was struck on the A456 at Rock, near Kidderminster, close to the Royal Forresters public house, during Friday evening.

He was taken to Birmingham's Selly Oak Hospital but died a short time later. The road was closed for several hours.

Police said they had already spoken to a number of witnesses but appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.
