A Malvern engineering company is expanding and creating up to 50 jobs after winning new contracts worth £30m.

Dytecna Ltd makes specialised communications equipment and will open a maintenance depot in Hereford.

The company employs 310 UK-based staff and said it expected to add outsourcing contracts and materials worth £10m to the local economy next year.

It will recruit engineers, technicians, and sales and administrative staff for both the Malvern and Hereford sites.

£30m contracts

The family-run company, which celebrated its 60th birthday in April, plans to open the new depot at Christmas.

The company said it had won £30m worth of contracts, including a deal with BAE Systems worth £20m over four years.

Company director Keith Mowbray said: "We have identified a similar number of contracts for next year and the extra business is driving job creation.

"We are looking to create between 30 to 50 new jobs across both our sites in Malvern and Hereford in the next 12 months and we hope to be able to recruit locally and buy our materials locally where we can."
