Teenager is killed in collision

A teenager has been killed and three others seriously injured in a car crash in Worcestershire.

The four people, all believed to be in their late teens, were in a Vauxhall Corsa which was in collision with a Land Rover Discovery in Malvern.

The man driving the Corsa was freed from the wreckage by fire crews. He was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition. He later died, police said.

His three passengers suffered multiple serious injuries in Tuesday's crash.

The injured trio, two men and a woman, were transferred Worcester Royal Hospital after the collision on Sherridge Road in Leigh Sinton about 1120 BST.

The elderly driver of the Land Rover was checked by paramedics but did not need hospital treatment, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said.
