Road still closed following crash

A road which was shut after a car crashed into shops in a Worcestershire town remained closed on Monday.

Blackwell Street, in the Horsefair area of Kidderminster, was shut following the crash which happened at about 0200 BST on Saturday.

A 24-year-old man is due to appear before magistrates on 11 September charged with drink driving and failing to stop at the scene of a crash.

The road closure has caused extensive traffic delays in the town.

Diversions have been set up via Radford Avenue, Birmingham Road and the ring road.

Engineers have been assessing the damage but the road remains open to pedestrians, West Mercia Police said.
